Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
LPI started its business in 1987 building engineering prototypes and pre-production products designed by its sister company, Tecnova. LPI has continued to expand its capabilities to beyond just pre-production builds. While many projects start off with lower quantities, LPI continues to increase its capacity to build products of varying complexity and in much higher volumes. How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
"I started Tecnova to design the latest engineering technology into new products for companies. As we grew it became apparent that we would need the right manufacturing partner that understood the technical requirements, could keep a focus on high quality standards, and yet offer competitive cost for these services. The only way to meet those requirements was to build Logical Products from the ground up. Today, these two companies work as one to provide the broad range of high quality engineering and manufacturing services that our current customers depend upon and new customers seek."

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
LPI is one of the most diverse contract manufacturers in the United States. Because our projects come from a wide array of industries, LPI has developed in-house capabilities to take a product from a set of drawings to a finished product. We can package and ship globally while meeting the needs of on-shore and off-shore standards compliance (RoHS, CE, CSA, UL, etc...). This "all-in-one" capability allows our clients to better manage vendor sources and reduce in-house costs. Our diverse array of capabilities provides you the flexibility to have a project completed to a level that fits your business model.
Our commitment to quality, diverse capabilities, experienced & professional staff, and responsiveness to client needs are just a few of the key reasons why customers continue to use LPI. For 25 years, our success has been evident through our repeat business and a growing number of companies choose LPI as their primary vendor for all electronic and mechanical assembly.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
In 2011, Logical Products, Incorporated moved to a larger high-tech facility located at 2383 North Delany Road in Waukegan, Illinois. The building consists of 50,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing space.
LPI’s sister company, Tecnova provides product development and automated test services and shares the facility with LPI.
