What is your primary product or service?
Social and recreational programs for children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In 1968, The Center was Founded by Young Men's Jewish Council at the Deborah Boys Club in Albany Park. Staff social worker, Lynne Albanese, integrated two children with developmental disabilities into the program. In 1984 The Center became and independent 501 (c) 3 agency and moved to Kennedy School in Highland Park. A capital campaign led to the building of a brand new 20,000 square foot building and a permanent home in Riverwoods in 2000.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There is more of an emphasis on friendships and building social skills. Programs are offered for longer sessions than many competitors. Funding sources are different. The Center is a private, non-profit organization, which receives no state or federal funding.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
The Center's 20,000 square foot building complete with teaching kitchen, lounge, craft room, fitness center, gymnasium, practice apartment, computer lab, and softball field is located in Riverwoods IL. The Center also runs a satellite program at Niles North H.S. during the school year on Thursdays.
The Center has plans to add additional satellite locations over the next 5 years. New locations are to be determined.

The Center is located at the intersection of Saunders Rd. and Lake Cook on the west side of Saunders, just North of Lake Cook Rd.
There is a green sign out front, which reads, "Saunders Woods Corporate Center" on the top and "Center for Enriched Living" on the bottom.

Credit card, checks, and cash payment are accepted. The Center also offers scholarships to members who demonstrate financial need.
